Our Frequently Barked Questions

What goes into a Doggy Bag?

Doggy Bag only uses food fit for human consumption, and easily-identifiable fresh ingredients like beef, pumpkin, peas and sunflower seeds--never unidentifiable animal digests or meat by-products. We use no salt, no additives and only one preservative: a refrigerator. If we can’t spell it, we won’t sell it!

Is Doggy Bag raw food?

Our recipes are all home-cooked, with select raw elements including carrots, peas and spinach. Other ingredients, such as sweet potatoes and organ meat, are baked instead. Our meats are cooked following scientific methods to lock in their maximum nutrition, and their juices are used to flavour our brown rice. Our special blend of herbs and spices adds that final healthy, tasty touch. Absolutely nothing is wasted!

How much should I feed my dog?

The amount you should feed depends on your dog’s size, life stage and activity levels. Click here for a full guide!

Can my puppy eat Doggy Bag?

Doggy Bag is formulated and balanced for adult dogs only, so give us a call once your puppy is 6 months or older.

How long until I see an improvement or change in my dogs’ overall condition?

While some dogs show improvement within a week, others may take up to 2-3 months. To see the maximum benefits of fresh food, put your dog on Doggy Bag for a minimum of 3 months.

Will fresh food give my dog the runs?

Most of our customers face no problems switching to Doggy Bag. However, if your dog has been fed only dry kibble before, the transition may lead to some internal spring cleaning.
